The cast appears very polarized into two types already. On one hand you have the active players who are super active and bringing it right out of the gate (Christine, Craig, Drew, Ika, Rachelle, Shilpa) and then on the other you have the duds (Hayden, Harry, Jillian, etc.)
With the MVP choosing a third nominee every round I see the first group easily mowing through some of the fodder very quickly. I know it's early but it seems likely. That might make for a slow burn before the drama hits but that's not always a bad thing. There do seem to be some big personalities though so maybe things will blow up if people get bored during the extended honeymoon phase.
I'm guessing that Craig will win the first MVP and I can't wait to see who the first Head of Household is. Be sure to double check when you tally the points shir! I'm rooting for Shilpa since I know she wants it really bad!
CAST ASSESSMENT
Ash - Nothing in his DR yet aside from his vote for MVP (which like Kevin said lacks the clearly mandatory reason ) but from the few posts I've seen him make, he seems to be at least be making an effort to socialize in the public threads.
Christine - I wasn't sold at first, give the character choice, but so far she seems really down to earth and sweet. I thought that her vote in MVP for Christopher was interesting too. They're kind of an interesting pair because I wouldn't expect her to feel the closest to him. She seems to be increasing her stock with the rest of the cast quickly too so I think I'd put her near the front of the pack as far as gameplay goes, whether it's purely social game at this point or not.
Christopher - I will say that I wasn't surprised at all when Drew said that Christopher takes a consistent few minutes to respond to his instant messages... Samm is so busy with hosting. I really want to see him do well though because every time I've played with him or seen him play he's been out fairly early. He made a really solid impression with Christine though, so I'd say that he seems to be holding his own, at least for the time being. I'm excited to hear from him!
Craig - The clear frontrunner out the gate in my opinion (last season that was Caleb though so we'll see.) Still he seems to be the 'golden boy' with everyone right now. His alliance with Shilpa and his proximity to Drew makes him the most powerful player at the moment I think and if he wins MVP like I think he might then it'll be very fitting! Love how active and enthusiastic he is.
Dan - He seems cocky. I don't mind cocky if the person has the receipts to back it up but I'm not convinced yet. He doesn't seem so aware or strong at all. I could easily see his self-proclaimed sneakiness backfiring in the worst possible way.
Drew - He's up there with Craig and Shilpa for me in the 'best gameplay' category. He has this edginess about him too that I find really compelling. I could totally see him playing the game that Dan wants to play but I could also see him fizzling if he's not careful. I could easily see him being the Caleb of the season and being a very dividing force in the house. Right now he's doing great though. His game of Truth or Dare was genius and reminded me of the kind of thing Dr. Will would have pulled back in Big Brother 2.
Harry - ... is anyone there?
Hayden - At least he cast his vote for MVP and did Majority Rules? Not expecting him to do very well unfortunately.
Ika - She's hilarious to me and I'm not completely sure that all of it is intentional. What's up with her signature? It makes me lol every time I see it. Still I think she's gonna bring it. Maybe it's her character choice but I sense some fire there.
Ivette - She seems enthusiastic but not really on anyone's radar as far as early alliances go? I'm not sure how that bodes for her since she's been one of the most active in her DR. Still she should be fine for a while. She's Wil right? Hopefully she can at least make the jury this time!
Jillian - I feel kind of sorry for her. Her posts in the public places give me the impression that she has absolutely no idea what is going on. Struggle bus is struggling?
Monet - Unintentionally hilarious people are the best kind of hilarious in my opinion and Monet is already making me lol just by existing. I mean I know that she didn't have access to her DR for a bit but the fact that she thought her vote for MVP was a vote for Head of Household is not making her look like a serious contender in my eyes.
Nick - As one of my fantasy player picks he needs to step it up and post in his Diary Room! I'm praying that he won't disappoint!
Rachelle - She's doing great so far which is no surprise since this isn't her first rodeo! All is well in paradise for the strong active players but I agree with her assessment on Drew and I think that there could be some real craziness very soon. She's gonna do just fine though as she has a good head on her shoulders and we know that she's a beast in the comps. Wishing Rachelle luck!
Sheila - Sheila is one of my all time favorite Big Brother USA houseguests. She's a complete riot, KNOW THAT. As a replacement I'm not crossing my fingers but if she's a fast learner and can be social enough she might be able to turn her position around. If she doesn't make some headway fast though I see her being the first or second evictee.
Shilpa - She's playing a flawless social game at the moment and I'm not surprised at all. I hope that it doesn't catch up with her since she might be playing almost too perfectly. She's doing everything the way that a houseguest should be doing it at this point I think and I'm super proud of her because I know how nervous she was going into this! Unlike Craig and Drew I don't think that she's on the radar as of yet in terms of who may emerge as a threat down the road, so I think she's in the best spot right now followed closely by Christine, Craig and Rachelle. I know that she wants to win the first Head of Household but she might be better off not drawing any attention to herself. Winning in the first week is a great way to make deals and secure yourself a spot in the house for a while, but I don't think that she could really better her position at this point and if she wins it might only make her look like a threat.
